Failing the Class 2 Medical Test means you are not medically fit to hold a Student Pilot Licence (SPL) or a Private Pilot Licence (PPL). This test checks eyesight hearing heart health diabetes mental fitness and other medical conditions. Without clearing this exam, you cannot start or continue flight training since medical fitness is mandatory for flying.
However failing once doesn’t always mean the end of your dream. Some issues may be temporary such as high blood pressure or minor vision problems and can be treated. After treatment you can reapply for the medical test. But if the condition is permanent and disqualifying (like severe color blindness epilepsy or major heart disease) you may not be able to pursue a pilot licence. In such cases you can still explore other aviation careers like aircraft maintenance ground operations or aviation management. Would you like me to list those alternate careers.
