Not really at least in terms of format and structure. According to the PilotCET site the exam consists of 90 multiple choice questions (MCQs) in English or Hindi and there is no negative marking.
Because of this a fixed number of questions clear answer format and no penalty for guessing the Pilot CET is reasonably accessible especially for candidates who prepare with a focused strategy.
That said, toughness depends more on your background preparation and how seriously you take it. Here are some of the factors that can make the difference:
Subject-wise strength: Since Pilot CET is an entrance exam for pilot training programs (PPL CPL etc.) you’ll want to be strong in the core subjects (such as basic physics mathematics English reasoning, and general knowledge). If your foundation in these areas is weak the test can feel difficult even if the format is friendly.
English and reasoning skills: The site explicitly states that knowledge of English and reasoning is important. If your verbal reasoning or comprehension skills are weak, that may slow you down or reduce accuracy.
Preparation level: With MCQs and no negative marking a lot comes down to smart practice practising question papers time management and learning typical question patterns. Someone who prepares well, practices sample papers times themselves, and reviews mistakes should find Pilot CET manageable. Conversely, someone who treats it like a casual test might find it harder.
Pressure and mindset: Even relatively straightforward exams can feel tough under test pressure. Having a calm mindset being used to timed tests and staying well rested all help reduce that toughness feeling.
Competition and cutoff: Finally passing Pilot CET doesn’t just mean getting some answers right it also depends on how many high scoring candidates you’re competing with and what rank/cutoff is required for your preferred flying school. If cutoffs are high you’ll need to aim for strong accuracy not just a pass.
Pilot CET is not inherently extremely difficult if you are reasonably strong in the core subjects prepare with discipline and practise MCQs under timed conditions. It’s more moderately challenging but very doable rather than impossibly hard.
