Can I give the pilot entrance exam after 12th?

After finishing Class 12th with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), you are indeed eligible to sit for the Pilot CET. This test gives you access to pilot training programs in India and abroad including Private Pilot License (PPL)  Commercial Pilot License (CPL), and their helicopter equivalents (HPPL/HCPL) and offers up to 100% scholarships based on your All India Rank.

Here s how eligibility works:

  • The minimum educational qualification is Class 12 with PCM (or equivalent).

  • There’s no requirement to be a top student passing PCM is sufficient to register and qualify.

  • Age criteria: You must be at least 17 years old at the time of training (or 18 years old for CPL/CHPL programs).

Once eligible:

  1. Register online for the Pilot CET (fee INR 2,100 for Indian students US $100 for foreign nationals) .

  2. Prepare for a 90-MCQ online exam (Hindi/English) covering Physics, Maths, English, General Awareness and Reasoning no negative marking .

  3. Take the test—you get 1.5 hours to complete it you can attempt it up to three times a year and your best score counts.

  4. A valid scorecard is applicable for three years and higher ranks may earn scholarships during counseling.

Yes you can absolutely take the Pilot CET after Class 12th provided you had PCM in your curriculum and meet the age requirement. Performance in the exam (not your grade board rank) determines your admission and scholarship eligibility. It’s your gateway to pilot training, offering both access and financial support.
