When students think about the requirements to become a pilot one of the first questions is about education. The pilot education requirements are very clear in India and in most countries you need to complete your 12th grade (Class 12) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. This is because both subjects are the foundation of aviation training and are part of the pilot subject requirements.
If you have passed 12th grade in the Science stream you meet the pilot minimum requirements to apply for a Student Pilot License and later for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). The pilot commercial license requirements also demand that candidates are at least 17 years old at the time of joining training. These are global standards under the airline pilot requirements and pilot certification requirements.
For students who did not study Physics and Math in 12th grade, there is still hope. Many aviation academies suggest completing these subjects through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or equivalent boards. This way you can still meet the pilot study requirements and continue toward fulfilling all pilot licence requirements.
The pilot course requirements also include clearing medical fitness tests passing written exams and completing flying hours under supervision. Once you meet these you can apply for a CPL which is the core step in the aircraft pilot requirements.
