Yes if you are planning to fly a specific model of aircraft beyond your basic pilot training you will need to pay additional fees for a type rating and that cost is typically over and above your main course fee, and according to Pilot CET  type rating generally costs between INR 15 lakh and INR 25 lakh extra depending on the aircraft type you are training on.

In other words even though the standard pilot course fees covering things like ground classes flying hours simulators medicals and license charges can range from INR 40 lakh to INR 80 lakh in India (and potentially much higher abroad) the expense for a type rating is not usually included in those figures so you should anticipate planning for that extra INR 15–INR  25 lakh specifically for the type of aircraft you intend to fly.

It’s important to recognize that type rating is an advanced qualification that allows you to operate a particular aircraft model and so institutions and flight training programs generally treat it as a separate and significant cost which is why Pilot CET clearly states that yes this is an extra expense beyond the base course pricing.
