The Commercial Pilot License DGCA training usually takes 18 to 24 months to complete depending on the student's learning speed weather conditions and flight schedule. This period includes both ground classes and flying training. Students first learn the theory part for the DGCA CPL License exams and then move on to flying practice with certified instructors.
In this stage, students study essential aviation subjects such as Air Navigation Aviation Meteorology Air Regulations and Aircraft Technical General. These classes prepare you for the DGCA written exams that every pilot must clear. Ground training usually takes 4 to 6 months, depending on your pace and the frequency of classes.
After clearing the theory exams, you will begin flying training at a DGCA-approved flight school in India or abroad. To earn a DGCA CPL License you must complete 200 hours of flying which includes solo flights cross country flying, night flying, and instrument flying. Flying duration depends on aircraft availability and weather but on average it takes around 18 to 24 months to complete.
After completing the flight hours and exams the next step is to submit documents to DGCA for Commercial Pilot License DGCA issuance. This process may take around 1 to 2 months for verification and final approval.
