When you are planning to become a pilot in India it is very important to clearly know the CPL DGCA requirements for education and training. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) sets all the rules that every aspirant must follow before applying for a commercial pilot license.

Educational Qualification

The basic CPL requirements DGCA states that a candidate must have passed 10+2 (Class 12) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. If you did not have these subjects DGCA allows you to appear for equivalent exams through recognized boards to meet the DGCA CPL requirements.

Age and Medical Fitness

According to the DGCA commercial pilot license requirements the minimum age to apply is 18 years. Candidates must also clear DGCA Class 1 medical examination to prove fitness for flying.

Flying Hours and Training

The DGCA CPL flying hours requirements specify that you need at least 200 hours of flying experience. These include solo flights cross country instrument flying and night flying. Meeting these DGCA CPL flying requirements is mandatory before you can apply for the CPL exam.
