Becoming a commercial aircraft pilot opens the door to a career that can take you across the world. After completing your commercial pilot training and obtaining your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) you are eligible to fly aircraft operated by airlines that have domestic as well as international routes.
Once you earn your licence in India you can apply for flying positions with airlines in India or abroad. Indian pilots often begin with domestic airlines such as IndiGo, Air India, or SpiceJet to gain experience. After gaining sufficient flying hours and upgrading to higher positions you can qualify for international routes. Many Indian airlines operate flights to destinations in Asia Europe and the Middle East giving pilots the chance to fly internationally.
If you want to work with international airlines outside India you may need to convert your Indian CPL into the local aviation authority's licence. For example if you wish to work in the USA, UK or UAE you must follow the FAA, CAA or GCAA requirements respectively. The conversion process includes written exams medical tests and flight assessments.
A commercial aircraft pilot's career offers tremendous global exposure. You get to fly modern aircraft visit new countries and work with multinational crews. As your flying experience increases you can advance to roles like captain flight instructor or examiner.
